Question one - Conventions

Question two - Brand identity
To create a sense of brand identity in my media studies ancillary coursework, I used a variety of techniques. As you can see, across all of my pieces of media studies coursework I have used similar themes, fonts and locations. I have also used a standard colour scheme across the entire ancillary range. I use conventional mise-en-scene and props which are repeated both across the video and across pieces of print media relating to the video. I will detail these similarities in the next piece of media on my blog.

Question three - Audience research

Wallwisher on my script:

In my audience research I used surveymonkey to get information on what was preferred and public opinion on what was liked and disliked about pop-punk music videos in general.

I have used a variety of different mediums to research audience opinions throughout my coursework. I believe the most successful have been survey monkey and wall wisher, so I have replicated them throughout my blog.
I used wallwisher to research my main product, public opinions on my ancillary products and my ancillary research.
My main product research has shown me that there could have been more post-production editing e.g. speeding certain scenes up, adding colour/black and white etc.
It also told me that there could be more shots of the band playing, with less inappropriate scenes e.g. drug taking.
It also told me about the opening scene possibly being juvenile.

My ancillary research has shown me that my ancillary products went down quite well with the majority of people, apart from possibly the inside covers.

I also used wallwisher to research my script and opinions on my script. I will include screenshots of this above. This told me that my first draft script was very difficult to pull off. Originally planned was a party scene requing a venue, equipment and a lot of people in the right place at the right time. I also found out that the link between narrative and performance tied in well in the view of the audience.

My surveymonkey on audience research also told me key pieces of information relating to what ages my target audience are and essential and non-essential features of a pop-punk video. It also told me what the audience preferred from a video of this genre. Surveymonkey proved an extremely useful tool, it allowed me to send my own personal questions to a variety of audiences and analyse the results with graphs, giving me an in depth idea on public opinions.
